Hi, I’m Kaitlynn! I’m a microbiologist with a BSc in Microbiology from LSU and certification in Food Safety and Preventive Controls. My passion lies in food microbiology, gut health, and the fantastic world of fermentation.

With years of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of microbial ecosystems, I’m here to make the science of fermentation approachable, accessible, and empowering for you.

Along with my husband, Jon, we operated a commercial fermented foods company for 7 years. We fermented vegetables in American white oak barrels and supplied prestigious stores such as Whole Foods Market. Ironically, during that time, I was called in the opposite direction—to teach fermentation so people don’t have to buy.
 
My mission here is to teach you everything I know about fermentation. All nourishing food is, in one way or another, connected to microbes. In this space, you’ll learn to adopt a holistic perspective on the microbial ecosystems that influence our food, lives, and the planet.
